I recently used the Valvoline SynPower SAE 75W-90 Full Synthetic Gear Oil for my 2017 Camaro’s rear differential, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. The gear oil provides excellent protection and lubrication, ensuring smooth and efficient operation. One of the standout features of this product is its full synthetic formulation. It is specifically designed to handle extreme conditions, which gives me confidence in its ability to protect my car’s differential under various driving situations. Whether I’m cruising on the highway or pushing the limits on a track day, this gear oil maintains its integrity and performance. The 1-gallon container is also a great value, providing enough oil for multiple uses. The packaging is user-friendly, with a convenient spout that makes it easy to pour without any mess. Additionally, the clear labeling provides all the necessary information, including specifications and compatibility.Overall, the Valvoline SynPower SAE 75W-90 Full Synthetic Gear Oil is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to maintain and enhance the performance of their vehicle’s differential. Its reliable protection and high-quality formulation make it a top-notch product that I would highly recommend to other Camaro owners or anyone needing a robust gear oil.

I’ve used Valvoline sythentic oil in many applications for over forty years. Valvoline is a top notch A+ grade lubricant, not some cheapo over-hyped and over-rated snake oil.I used this particular GL-5 rated sythetic (with limited slip additive) in a BMW E36, and it meets or exceeds all BMW requirements. Works great, and better protection than stock 75W-90 when driven hard, towing or in hot environments. Thanks to the limited slip additive, the pos-unit is smooth and gradual, not chattery. The limited slip additive is in the package, no extra costs or mixing required. NOTE: If you don’t HAVE limited slip, no problem. The Valvoline limited slip additive is harmless to non-posi differentials, so you can use it in either application without any concern. Finally, a small but significant detail is that the Valvoline container style makes actually putting the lubricant into the rear axle of the BMW very very easy. No hoses or pumps required! Drain the old gear oil from the bottom port. Close it up and retorque the drain plug. Now, open up the top port and squirt the oil in with this squeeze style bottle. Retorque the fill nut, you’re done.Works fantastic – didn’t spill a drop, and absolutely no hoses or pumps required. A simple no-nonsense solution to what can be a messy problem, and a GREAT synthetic gear oil from a real old-school oil company – one that actually operates real refineries. (unlike so many other snake-oil style gear oils and engine oils, which come from people who don’t own or operate actual refineries…I bet you didn’t know that, eh? HINT: BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Amsoil, Royal Purple, etc. do NOT refine anything. They SPECIFY, and then real refineries make their product for them.) Just personal taste, but I’d rather buy from the source, as opposed to a vendor who bought it for me (with markup included, of course – plus advertising and marketing)Go Valvoline – you can’t go wrong.

High quality at a good price, came well packaged.

I used this for a couple of applications and in tight areas. The package makes those so easy to refill. Filling is easy to control. In one gearbox, the access was so tight that I added a hose to the nipple and squeezed the oil up and in. The oil seems to be slippery and do the job, too 😉

I used this to replace the gear oil in my 2018 Nissan Frontier. I change my gear oil every year since I tow a 4k travel trailer quite often. I had my local dealer do it one year and they are very expensive and they don’t use synthetic. I prefer synthetic for all my automotive fluids because of the superior performance and protection synthetics offer. This gear oil was also cheaper than buying OEM Nissan gear oil by the quarts. If you have a Nissan Frontier, make sure you use the proper grade of gear oil. The 75W-140 is only for the Nissan (Dana-44) M226 axle that is in the Pro-4X and SV CC with a 6 speed. If you have the C200 axle with 8 bolts on the diff cover, you need a different gear oil.

This was ten times easier than using a fluid transfer pump. In a few spots it needed some finesse to be positioned but the spillage was minimal, and the flexibility is worth the extra cost when working on jackstands.

Used this for my front diff on a ram 1500. So far so good after about 1200 miles. Will update if I run into any issues. The manual calls for 75w-85 but I wanted a cheaper alternative to the OEM stuff and it seems like this works.
